Automated Mineralogy for Planetary Geology

FEI's Automated Mineralogy technology is being used to provide mineral, phase and textural data on Apollo-era samples and lunar simulants, as well as meteorites and asteroids that have been collected by geologists on Earth. This collaboration is helping scientists and engineers scope and design mechanical equipment, living environments and scientific activities on the Moon and Mars, in preparation for future space exploration.
